What is Autism Awareness Month & Why Should We All Care?

Every April, the Autism Community promotes autism awareness and inclusion in order to assure that each person with Autism (ASD) has the opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life.

The Pools of Hope would like to join the Autism Society and families around the United States in promoting awareness and wellness in the Autism community. Join us in celebration for 2019 National Autism Awareness Month!

What is National Autism Awareness Month:

National Autism Awareness Month represents an excellent opportunity to promote autism awareness, autism acceptance and to draw attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year.

How to get involved:

  • Sign up for the Pools of Hope e-newsletter to continue sharing ideas on how to make a better world for autism here.
  • Share your experience/stories with autism with us. We will be featuring autism stories throughout the month. Use #PoolForAutism to join the conversation!
  • Wear and share your Puzzle Ribbons. The Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon is the most recognized symbol of the autism community in the world. You can show your support for people with autism by wearing the Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon – as a pin on your shirt, a magnet on your car, a badge on your blog, or even your Facebook profile picture – and educate folks on the potential of people with autism! • Donate to the Pools of Hope supporting our Autism Swim Program Society:  Help improve the lives of all impacted by autism with a financial gift to the Pools of Hope. Every dollar raised by the Pools of Hope allows us to support autistic children and adults through aquatic therapy and swim lessons.
